Welcome to The Grove

Blacksmith Shop

Hey y'all, and welcome to our brand-new blog! We're thrilled to have you here as part of our journey through the crafty world of blacksmithing. As a small family business, we value your support and can't wait to share our stories, tips, and all the long forum topics we can cover that revolve around our family's passion for forging steel on our little homestead in the hills of Dripping Springs, Texas.

If you have yet to see our social media posts on this, new Community Guidelines enacted this year now restrict and, in some cases, outright ban our tools from being showcased on Instagram and Facebook as they always have since our beginning in 2016. Although kitchen cutlery is explicitly allowed within their rules, AI based algorithms use keywords (like "knife") and basic shapes in photos to find and label our culinary blades as weapons or "restricted goods" anyway and intentionally limit their reach citing them as a danger. It's been like this for a while now but we're still holding out hope the issue will be fixed. In the meantime, this blog is one thing we're doing in response as a means to give ourselves the space to showcase and discuss our work at length without any restrictive algorithms.

(we're also offering regular discounts, sales and extras exclusively to our Newsletter Subscribers as a thanks to those you support us directly!)

Look for more and more long-forum content here! I'm excited at the opportunity to further inform our customers and explain the details of our tools, processes and business to a degree that social media has never really been geared for. All of the members of our crew will be contributing here on a variety of topics all dear to our hearts.

We're looking forward to it!

Our Iron Roots

If you're new to these parts, let me tell you about us: Our passion for steel runs deep.

At Iron Grove we blend time-honored traditional techniques with cutting-edge modern technology to make accessible handmade culinary tools as well as the endless pursuit of sculptural high-performance art. Each culinary piece we create is a testament to our dedication to the craft and our commitment to excellence in the shop, kitchen and field. What started as a one-man-band is now a small team of craftsmen, each bringing their own skillset to the table. Our skilled artisans pour their hearts into every step of the process, from forging high layered legendary "damascus" steel chef knives that are both functional and stunning works of art, to meticulously hand hammering skillets, skewers, and fire tools that are as beautiful as they are practical.

We believe when you acquire a piece from Iron Grove, you are not just purchasing a kitchen tool; you are welcoming a piece of life-long craftsmanship into your home. Every item that leaves our shop is a labor of love, crafted to meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. We take pride in showcasing our creations, knowing that each piece embodies the essence of our passion and expertise, where tradition meets innovation and every creation tells a story of skill, dedication, and creativity.
